Shock Hill Chalet Townhome Feb 2023

Excellent House, set up really well for 6-10 people. Main issue was the Music/stereo system did not work. The hot tub is great, Location is fantastic. overall a great experience, wish we could have stayed for a week.

Breck In The Fall!

Shock Hill Chalet is delightful. We spent quite a bit of time around the firepit and hot tub.
The master suite is serious!

Shock Hill is easy to get to, in a serene community. The gondola, is literally steps away from the property; yey!
The scenery is calming; we could easily do Shock Hill again.

The house is not really maintained as I've expected from prior SMR rentals. We brought up issues that were ignored during our trip (burned out and malfunctioning lights, missing basic kitchen gear, etc). Other issues such as dishwasher and clothes drier poor performance. We tried not to be overly demanding and, as a result, none of the items were remedied except from the broken shower control. This house is in a great location, just poorly maintained...especially considering the price paid.

Shock Hill Rental

Overall the unit and the location were great. However, there were many maintenance problems with the unit that we did not want to have to deal with during our vacation. I sent a detailed list with the departure checklist, but I did not receive a reply. For instance:

The MBR shower stopped working mid-week
The MBR closet light didn't work
The dining room lights didn't work.
Pendant light over the kitchen island didn't work (probably a burned out bulb)
The heat controls didn't seem to work in the MBR and bunk room
The dishwasher soap dispenser didn't open
etc.
The electronic controls for lights, heat, and music are complex and in some instances broken. It was a frustrating week for people who like things to work seamlessly.


Someone should go through the unit in detail to check everything and make repairs.
